Willet is a shorebird species that is a rare visitor to Lycoming County. Western Willet would be considered our typical vagrant subspecies, as eastern Willets rarely stray into Pennsylvania. The best-documented sighting was in 2015, but there was at least one previous record. In August 2015, a single western Willet was seen for three days at Mill St. in Montoursville.
