Winter Wren is a relatively common but secretive species typically found in wet forested area. The species can be found year-round in Lycoming County, but they are easiest to find in the spring by their distinctive song. When singing, they often perch in the open. During the rest of the year, looks are often just quick glimpses as they hop along the ground. In winter, Winter Wren is the only expected wren species in the county other than the ubiquitous Carolina Wren.
