Brant

Brant is a goose species that is not recorded annually in Lycoming County, although the species may possibly be a regular flyover migrant. There are occasional records during late October and November, often from large storm events. Superstorm Sandy led to a large fallout of Brant in the county on 10/30 and 10/31/2012. The species is more expected later in the fall, but two of the recent records of the species were from 10/1-10/2/2015 and 9/27/2018, which are very early dates for this species to be in Lycoming County in the fall. Both of those records were single birds.
