Lycoming County Hawk Watching

Every spring and fall, thousands of raptors migrate through Lycoming County. Fall raptor migration primarily occurs from September through November. Spring raptor migration primarily occurs in March and April.

White Deer Ridge Hawk Watch has been the traditional hawk watching site in the county.

Fall 2015 was the first time considerable effort was put into hawk watching at the Route 15 Overlook and it quickly became the preferred spot for many due to the amazing view and comfort.

  • Cooper's Hawk
  • Northern Goshawk (rare)
  • Bald Eagle

  • Broad-winged Hawk
  • Red-tailed Hawk
  • American Kestrel
  • Merlin
  • Peregrine Falcon
