The Lycoming Audubon Society is the primary birding organization for the county. Formed in 1968 as the local chapter of the National Audubon Society covering Lycoming and Clinton Counties, it's mission is "to conserve and restore natural ecosystem focusing on birds, other wildlife and habitats for the benefit of humanity and earth’s biological diversity."

LAS regularly holds monthly meetings in Williamsport and leads a large number of bird walks throughout the year that are open to the public.
