About eBird
eBird is a project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The primary functionality is a website that allows users to submit bird checklists and explore the submitted data. A smartphone app allows users to easily create and submit checklists in the field while birding.

Local eBird activity has continued to increase in recent years but could still be much higher.
Every eBird hotspot has species bar charts that divide each month into quarters. Many hotspots have no data submitted for significant portions of the year.
